Antonio Conte’s men continued to press on with preparations for the increasingly imminent tests of the TIM Trophy and USA tour in a sunny training session this morning.
The Primavera players were out first, ever the early-starters in Chatillon. The youngsters knocked the ball around the whole field whilst groundsmen worked around them to keep the edges of the pitch in peak condition after yesterday’s heavy rain.
Vajebar Sakor showed his passing ability with some neatly executed floated balls, Federico Mattiello continued to demonstrate why he is rated so highly by keeping the ball in the air with great skill and Ouasim Buoy was strong in picking out passes.
The goalkeepers had the longest outing this morning, first working on moving their feet, then coming out from the six yard box to collect the ball. They took centre stage when the youngsters left the pitch, and began to practice saving shots from an obscured view.
Next they faced the ball machine, first directly and then with obstacles to create a deflection on the ball.
With rumblings of cheers starting to break out in the crowd, it was clear that the first team were gathering at the pitch entrance, and these rumblings became a roar when they emerged. Antonio Conte’s men went on to complete the necessary warm-up before all taking part in a one-touch passing drill.
It was only a light workout for the Bianconeri in the open air this morning having spent a longer spell than usual in the gym, but training will resume this afternoon at 5.30 (CET).
