A slow start translates into two dropped points. If Juventus go back to Italy with a single point in the bag, you might say their sluggish exit from the starting blocks is to blame. Indeed, the Danes took the lead early on through what proved to be their only chance of the match.
Bonucci was certainly taking that view when he spoke to the media after Juve's opening Champions League match against Copenhagen:
"If you take away those first ten minutes then we played well. It just wasn't enough though. Unfortunately their goal came from a lucky deflection. For the rest of the game we were the only side creating openings, but that's how it goes in Europe: if you don't take your chances, you pay for it in points."
