Martin Caceres believes the Bianconeri’s unwavering determination to reach a historic target proved crucial in seeing off the challenge of nearest rivals Roma.
Speaking exclusively to Sky, the defender hailed the never-say-die attitude displayed by his team-mates while reflecting on a triumphant campaign which yielded the club’s third consecutive Scudetto title.
The 27-year-old said: “We’re aware that we’ve done well and remained on the ball throughout the entire year. Roma never gave in, but we were ambitious and stuck to our task. ”
A calf injury to Andrea Barzagli saw Antonio Conte turn to the Uruguayan for the team’s most crucial period of the season, and he responded by turning in a series of impressive performances.
He added: “It’s been a fine season, not just on a personal level but also for the team as whole. When you’re at Juventus you always have to be up to the task when your time comes. That’s how it’s been for each and every one of us.”
