Giorgio Chiellini says the Bianconeri understand the importance of living up to the fans’ expectations as they go in search of their first silverware of the season against Lazio next Sunday.
After enjoying another useful run-out as the Bianconeri’s pre-season fixtures drew to a close with this afternoon’s friendly with the Primavera, the defender immediately turned his thoughts to next weekend’s Italian Super Cup final in Rome.
Speaking at the final whistle in Villar Perosa, Chiellini said:“We know how important it is and being ready is something that really matters to us. We were showered with affection and enthusiasm from our fans today. We know that they have big dreams and we want to bring them joy in both Italy and Europe.
“However, we’re aware we must keep our feet on the ground, we’ll only get there by working hard and with great determination. As it stands, the legs are still a little heavy from the workload, getting back to a typical week’s routine will help us.”
