With Sunday’s 18.30 CET kick-off against Sassuolo rapidly approaching, the Bianconeri took to the training pitch in Vinovo this morning to continue developing their game plan for the clash at Juventus Stadium.
While Juve are flying high three points clear at the top, the Neroverdi have discovered in their first ever Serie A adventure that the top-flight can be an unforgiving league.
Eusebio di Francesco’s team now find themselves just one point above the relegation zone, but they have shown good form recently and are unbeaten in their last four away games.
Although they have conceded more goals than any other side this season, they have also turned things around in that respect and have only let in four in their last four fixtures.
Given that Sunday will be the two sides’ first ever top-flight encounter, Antonio Conte has no past experience of facing Sassuolo to base his preparations on. But there are a number of familiar faces in the opposition ranks.
Conte will be well aware of the abilities of Luca Marrone, a product of the Juve youth academy now co-owned with Sassuolo, and of striker Simone Zaza, 50% of whose registration rights were purchased by Juventus in the summer and who has netted five goals in Serie A for the Neroverdi so far this season.
The Bianconeri boss will hold his pre-match press conference tomorrow morning at 10.30 CET in Vinovo ahead of the team’s training session.
