Chievo boss Eugenio Corini has urged his men to adopt a fearless approach when they line up against the league leaders at Juventus Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
The 43-year-old, who recorded a 12th place finish last season before making way for Giuseppe Sannino, returned to the Gialloblu dugout in November to steer the team away from the relegation zone.
But a recent run of patchy form has threatened to drag Chievo down into the bottom three, prompting Corini to get back to basics on the training ground.
Speaking in Verona ahead of Sunday afternoon’s clash, the tactician said: “Juventus will be angry after drawing in Verona, but we are as well. We’ve worked a great deal as there are fundamental games at this stage of the season.
“We’ve rolled out a plan that will enable us to play each match as a final, from a physical, technical and tactical point of view. We’ve also worked on motivation in order to have that added boost and to view every encounter as an opportunity.
“We’re taking on a side whose competitive edge has enabled them to achieve extraordinary targets over the last few years. But we can’t let this intimidate us.”
