Juventus began their focus towards Sunday’s Italian Super Cup final against Lazio by undergoing morning and afternoon workouts at the club’s Vinovo training complex.
After enjoying a day of rest following their recent exertions in the United States, a reduced group – deprived of the 13 players representing their respective nations – returned to the training ground this morning to focus on the Bianconeri’s upcoming clash against Vladimir Petkovic’s charges.
Joining Antonio Conte’s squad for the first time this season was Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye who, like Paul Pogba, spent the majority of his summer on Under-20 World Cup duty.
Meanwhile, Simone Pepe was welcomed back to the group after pursuing an individual fitness regime during the team’s pre-season tournament in America.
The reduced numbers, however, had no bearing on the intensity of the double training sessions, with Conte keen to keep the tempo high as he targets the team’s first silverware of the 2013/14 campaign.
Juventus will return to their preparations tomorrow at 5pm.
