Primavera prospect Simone Emmanuello was all smiles as he spoke about the excitement of training with Antonio Conte’s Scudetto winners for the first time on pre-season in Chatillon.
The Turin-born midfielder, who spent the vast majority of last season sidelined through injury, is one of the nine youth academy players selected to join the first team squad for their 10-day training camp in the Alpine valley.
And he is convinced the opportunity to work alongside the likes of Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente will help him develop as a player.
Speaking exclusively to JTV, Emmanuello began: “I was only able to play in the first five games and missed almost the entire campaign. Now I’m very happy to be here on pre-season, it’s a wonderful experience for us youngsters.”
“I mainly try to draw inspiration from Vidal, he’s a player who runs a great deal and breaks forward to perfection. I didn’t think I’d have the chance to train with him and other champions like Tevez and Llorente. I hope I’ll have further opportunities to train with the first team squad throughout the course of the season.”
After taking the opportunity to gather various tricks of the trade from the seasoned professionals in Chatillon, Emmanuello is expected to enhance his credentials by getting some vital playing time under his belt with this year’s new-look Primavera.
“I’ll be back training with my team-mates soon. I hope we can enjoy a good season. But personally speaking, after a season like the last one, what I want most is to get back playing consistently.”
