Claudio Gabetta’s Giovanissimi Nazionali have raised their points tally to an even more untouchable 65 with another victory in the penultimate appointment of the regular league season, Virtus Entella their victims this time in a 2-1 away win.
Both strikers were on target for the Bianconeri league leaders, Simone Mancini netting a tap-in in the first half before Federico Tamagnini sent a stunning strike past the Virtus goalkeeper in the second.
Speaking after the final whistle, manager Gabetta commented: “The lads did really well: we played an excellent first half, creating a great number of chances.
“We conceded one right at the end of the first 45 minutes, but I was very pleased with the reaction and spirit the boys showed after the break. We never stopped believing and a fantastic diagonal goal from Tamagnini decided it.”
The Giovanissimi’s championship season will arrive at its climax next week with the derby against Torino, after which it will be time for the finals: a challenge which Gabetta promised his side will face with “maximum determination”.
