On the day in which this afternoon’s Galatasaray v Juventus fixture is ensuring the Champions League remains the Bianconeri’s principal focus, one of the stars of Juve’s most recent triumph in the competition happens to be celebrating his birthday.
Turning 45 today is Fabrizio Ravanelli, the goalscorer in the 1995/96 final against Ajax in Rome.
A true symbol of Juventus, the 68 goals he netted in 160 games between 1992 and 1996 played a large role in trophy wins as far ranging as a Scudetto, a Coppa Italia, an Italian Super Cup, a Champions League and a UEFA CUP.
He returned to the club in 2011 as a Bianconeri youth academy coach, inspiring youngsters for two years before beginning a new managerial adventure in France’s Ligue 1 this summer with Ajaccio.
All associated with Juventus Football Club wish Fabrizio many happy returns.
