Fernando Llorente believes a significantly improved second half performance held the key to tonight’s 2-0 victory over Milan at the San Siro.
The Spanish forward, who found himself in the right place at the right time to net the Bianconeri’s first goal ahead of the break, admits the team found it tough to deal with a rampant Rossoneri during the opening period.
But he was quick to praise his team-mates for the emphatic response provided during a much-improved second half.
Speaking to reporters at the San Siro, the 29-year-old began: “It was a difficult game. They played well in the first half, putting us under pressure throughout. We didn’t expect it and struggled, but in the end we put together a nice move for the first goal and then regrouped in the second half, when we played better, deserved the victory and gained three golden points.”
