It took Fernando Llorente just under two minutes to find the net once again at Juventus Stadium following his midweek Champions League equaliser against Real Madrid.
It was the Spaniard who started the flow of goals with his fourth strike of the campaign, providing the springboard for a victory that he recognised as crucial when speaking to the media after the match.
The 28-year-old striker said: “We knew that there was a lot riding on it. Roma drew today, making it even more important to win.
“We’re very happy with the victory, and personally I’m pleased with my goal and the way I was able to help the team. We played very well indeed and it’s down to the hard work that we put in.”
The Spanish frontman concluded with a word on his growing understanding with strike-partner Carlos Tevez: “He’s a brilliant player and it’s nice playing alongside him.”
