The goalkeepers were the hardest workers in this morning’s session, and it was using the ball rather than attempting to save it which they focused on from the start.
They began by practicing receiving and then returning a pass from a defender, before distributing to the wide areas of the pitch over the top of player mannequins.
Ouasim Buoy continues to train hard in order to be at peak fitness for the start of the season, and this time he worked one-on-one in a number of ball-control and agility drills.
After an hour of exertion, the goalkeepers sat down to discuss strategy and the rest of the squad took their place on the field. In a relatively light outing following a session in the gym, the Bianconeri completed warm-up sprints and then a triangular passing drill, perhaps wisely trying to conserve their energy for the TIM trophy on Tuesday.
As the session neared its end, Fabio Quagliarella produced a moment of magic. The striker attempted the crossbar challenge, and sure enough he hit the bar from the half way line on his first attempt, raising his arms aloft as the crowd cheered.
The team’s penultimate training session of their time in Chatillon will take place this afternoon at 5.30 (CET).
