Daniele Orsato is to referee Inter v Juventus at the San Siro on Saturday, his first time overseeing a Bianconeri game this season.
During the last campaign he was involved in Juve’s draws at home to Lazio and away at Napoli.
In fact, a draw has been the most common result in the Juventus matches overseen by the Schio-born official, with eight out of 15 turning out that way. Four victories and three defeats constitute the others.
None of those 15 have featured Inter as the Bianconeri’s opponents, so Saturday will be the first time that Orsato referees a Derby d’Italia.
Of all the games that he has taken charge of, the one that sticks out as far as Juventus are concerned is the win against Cagliari on 6 May 2012, a victory which handed Antonio Conte the first of his two consecutive Scudetto trophies.
Aiding Orsato at the San Siro will be assistants Elenito Giovanni Di Liberatore and Gianluca Cariolato, and the fourth official Nicola Andrea Nicoletti.
