January signing Dani Osvaldo has described his joy at setting the Bianconeri on their way to an important 2-0 win over Trabzonspor with a goal on his full debut this evening.
Speaking to the media after the final whistle, the 28-year-old began: “It’s been great mostly because of the result, but I’m obviously also pleased with the goal.”
The Italian international frontman was quickest onto a loose ball to slot past visiting goalkeeper Onur Kivrak with 15 minutes gone, showing the reactions and poacher’s instinct of a natural born striker.
And he went on to reveal that pouncing at the crucial moment is an inherent part of his game.
“Making the right movements is part of my playing style, I’m not one to wait for the ball to come my way. Besides, working off each other as a team is what the boss asks us to do.”
Osvaldo showed a good understanding with his strike partner Carlos Tevez out on the Juventus Stadium pitch this evening, and he confirmed that he feels comfortable playing with the player who shares his Argentine blood.
“It’s easy to work alongside Tevez: he’s a phenomenal player, so an understanding with him would no doubt come naturally to anyone.
“Besides Tevez, I also feel comfortable with the team as a whole. I’m happy because I think I’ve adapted quite well to playing with them right from the start.”
Osvaldo concluded by expressing his desire to keep playing well for the Bianconeri in order to secure a place on the plane to Brazil with the Azzurri World Cup squad.
“I really hope I’ll be there, it’s one of my aims this season so I’ll try my very best.”
