Paul Pogba spoke of his joy at contributing a sumptuous assist in this evening’s resounding 4-1 victory over Lazio at Juventus Stadium.
The French midfielder’s magnificent through ball split the Lazio defence in the opening stages of the game, allowing Arturo Vidal to set the Bianconeri on their way to a second four-goal haul in as many weeks.
But the ever-modest 20-year-old was initially keen to deflect the attention away from his individual performance, instead focusing on another impressive team display.
Speaking after the game, Pogba said: “It was a great performance from an excellent team. We need to keep on going and displaying the same type of cutting edge. The assist? I saw Arturo free and thankfully he steered it home.
“It’s a real pleasure for me to play here, I feel I’ve gained everyone’s trust, but I don’t think about how far I can go. All that matters to me is what happens on the field of play.”
