The Primavera have extended their run of games without defeat to five with this afternoon’s 3-1 home victory over Siena.
The three points mean Fabio Grosso’s side consolidate their standing in second place as the hunt for the title prepares to transfer from the league to the finals.
The Bianconeri started with a determined attitude that paid off with 16 minutes gone as Vajebah Sakor fired home a splendid long-range effort.
And just four minutes later, Matteo Gerbaudo slotted home a Luca Barlocco assist to make it two.
Goalkeeper Gianmarco Vannucchi was beaten from the spot as the visitors got themselves on the scoresheet, but Gerbaudo then secured the win with his second of the day.
Speaking after the final whistle, manager Grosso commented: “I’m very happy with the attitude of all the lads, both those who started and those who came on.
“The entire team made the right moves: getting forward when we were in possession and looking to win it back as quickly as possible when the opposition had the ball.
“We’ve managed to regain second place in this last month and we’ll give everything until the very end of the regular season to be able to take part in the finals.”
After the Easter break, the Bianconeri’s next fixture will be a trip to Genoa to face Sampdoria.
