A record number of 335 football professionals have signed up for this season’s foundation course at Juventus University.
On this new achievement from an initiative which continues to go from strength to strength, Juventus Soccer Schools manager Marco Isnardi remarked: “These record participation numbers are testament to the quality of our courses, and more generally reveal an ever increasing awareness of the message JSS has been conveying for years - the need for greater specific preparation both at professional and amateur levels.”
This is precisely why Juventus University is expanding its range of courses on offer, with the Super and Top workshops – the second and third levels of the programme - soon to take place and already nearly fully booked.
But, as Isnardi points out, the new initiatives don’t stop there.
“For two years we’ve wanted to introduce specialised workshops which explore particular topics in detail, satisfying the need for preparation and specialisation in the football arena even further.
“The courses would be taught by important professionals, bringing practical experience as well as theory into the classroom.”
With this aim in mind, Juventus University is now offering three new dedicated workshops: goalkeeping, technical and fitness.
-Coordinated by Claudio Filippi, Juventus first-team goalkeeping coach
-Saturday 15 March (first level): “A 360° look at the goalkeeper – the fundamentals of coaching goalkeepers”
-Sunday 16 March (second level): “Managing the ball – coming out to claim it and evaluating trajectories”
-Coordinated by Claudio Gabetta, Juventus Giovanissimi coach
-Saturday 29 March: “The modern defender: an in-depth analysis of the position”
-Coordinated by Professor Giuseppe Trucchi, Head of Science at Centro Studi JSS
-Sunday 30 March: “Footballing stamina: training methodology”
