Massimiliano Allegri says the Bianconeri will have to watch out for Malmo’s altered approach at the Swedbank Stadion, but is confident his men have what it takes to come away with an important victory tomorrow night.

The Swedes have struggled on the road in this season’s Champions League, opening their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Juventus in Turin before suffering a 5-0 reverse at the Vicente Calderon, yet the Tuscan tactician believes they represent a different prospect entirely in front of their own fans.

Speaking to the media in Sweden, Allegri began: “Malmo play a different brand of football on home soil. They’re a lot more aggressive and have put in some good displays here.

“They didn’t deserve to lose in their last game against Atletico, having had more shots on goal than the visitors. It will be a difficult game because every team is fighting to get through.”

Juventus join Malmo in succumbing to defeats in both their Group A away games, but Allegri is adamant his charges deserved significantly more than they got from trips to Spain and Greece.

“We didn’t deserve to lose our last two European away matches. We played with plenty of personality in Madrid and fashioned a host of chances in Greece. Tomorrow will be a different game entirely and we’ll need to be quick and alert.”

With victory a fundamental aim tomorrow night, Allegri concluded by calling on his men to put the poor playing surface to the backs of their minds and instead channel all their thoughts into claiming all three points.

“There’s no point talking about the pitch, it is what it is and we’ll have to adapt to it quickly because we need to win. We’re in good form and we’ve got all it takes to get the right result.”
