Borussia Dortmund warmed up for this week’s crunch Champions League last 16 second leg against Juventus with a goalless stalemate at home to Cologne earlier on Saturday.

Despite dominating possession throughout, Jurgen Klopp’s men, who could have closed the gap on ninth-placed Werder Bremen to only two points with a win, were unable to find their way past the visitors’ resolute defence.

Tricky winger Marco Reus had the hosts’ best chance of the match on 65 minutes but his deflected effort was saved splendidly by opposition goalkeeper Timo Horn.

Today’s result means Dortmund remain joint-10th alongside Mainz in the domestic standings, with Cologne sitting only a point behind them in 12th.
