Starring in this week’s #TalentTrack are Christian Pasquato and Mame Thiam, who each struck two goals for Livorno and Zulte Waregem respectively on Saturday.

First up is Pasquato, who scored his pair in a particularly important match for Livorno against Modena. Having won their opening four fixtures in this year’s Serie B, the Tuscan outfit had gone a whole month without a victory and were desperate for the three points to get their promotion push back on track.

After a tight first half which ended goalless, it would be down to the Padova-born Pasquato to steer his side on course for their first celebrations since mid-September with two well-taken goals in the 52nd and 82nd minutes of the match. The success lifts Livorno up to fourth place in the table, which is the same number of points that separate them and table-topping Crotone.

Heading north to Belgium, Zulte Waregem beat Malines 4-3 at home and playing no small part in the goal-fest was Mame Thiam. The Senegalese forward, on loan from Juventus, opened the scoring in the 15th minute and his second-half strike with 21 minutes left on the clock eventually proved to be the winner.

The victory sees the team, based in West Flanders, rise to fifth place in the Jupiler Pro League, just five points behind Anderlecht, who currently lead the way in Belgium’s first division.
