Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich play their first home game of 2016 when they welcome struggling Hoffenheim to the Allianz Arena on Sunday at 17.30 CET.

After returning from the winter break with last week’s 2-1 away win over Hamburg, Pep Guardiola’s men, who meet Juventus in the Champions League last 16 on 23 February in Turin, will look to build on their eight-point lead at the summit tomorrow evening.

They will have to do it without the services of defender Jerome Boateng, who sustained a ruptured groin muscle during last Friday’s triumph at the Volksparkstadion, where Robert Lewandowski’s double secured all three points.

Vistors Hoffenheim, who lie four points adrift of safety, will be looking for another positive result to boost their relegation battle after claiming a creditable point from last weekend’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

History however does not lie in their favour, with Bayern emerging victorious from six of their last seven home outings against Die Kraichgauer.
