Winning such pulsating and competitive derbies like today is even more satisfying and Massimiliano Allegri was walking proof of that after the contest.
"The lads were brilliant and put in a good performance, showing great fight against an excellent Torino side," the Bianconeri coach enthused. "In the opening 15 minutes and during the second half we had chances to score but our aim was off.
"After that we were hit on the counter a few times, but nevertheless we defended well with Chiellini, Rugani and Lichtsteiner. The defenders we have at Juventus are capable of going man-to-man so don't need much cover, even though Marchisio in front of the backline gives you guarantees in this respect."
If the defence is firing on all cylinders, the superstars up front can deal with the rest and Allegri sent on two just at the right moment.
"When you've got players like Dybala and Pjanic on the bench, the substitutions are easier to pull off!" Allegri smiled. "They brought their quality to the table just as the tempo was beginning to drop.
"As for Higuain's brace, I'm more and more pleased with him, also considering the technique he adds to our play."
