Daniele Rugani insists Juve are their usual selves again after bouncing back from an off-day last weekend to dominate proceedings against Atalanta on Saturday night.

The Italy defender was joined by Alex Sandro and Mario Mandzukic on the score sheet as the Bianconeri responded to criticism with a thoroughly convincing 3-1 victory over Atalanta.

“We sent out a strong message tonight,” Rugani said after the final whistle. “We messed up against Genoa last Sunday but it can happen that you lose the odd game.

“The main thing is we've understood our mistakes and we know what we mustn't do wrong again.

“We went out there tonight and looked like the real Juve again. The result was the logical consequence given the level of determination we showed.

“We have a great team and we can cause problems for anyone. When we produce such a strong mental performance as that our opponents are always going to find it tough going. We've got ourselves back on track but there's still a long way to go."

Tonight was Rugani's second goal for the club after he opened his account against Cagliari on 21 September.

"I'm happy with my goal because it helped set us on the way to victory. I'd like to dedicate it to the people who are always behind me giving me a hand, both on and off the pitch, from the Juve staff to my family."
