While Juventus’ first team were enjoying a profitable afternoon in front of goal in Udine, the Under 17s were in even more unforgiving mood, as they defeated Spezia 7-1 in front of a jubilant Vinovo crowd.

A Gabriele Galtarossa hat-trick and braces from Moise Bioty Kean and Leonardo Merio made for a memorable day for Felice Tufano’s young guns, who move to the top of the table after inter-city rivals Torino lost 2-0 at Modena.

In what was otherwise a highly successful weekend for the J-Academy, the Under 15s were unable to make it a clean sweep of wins across the board, falling to a 2-1 reverse at Pavia in Alessandro Spugna’s first match since taking temporary charge for the injured Davide Cei.

Ibrahima Diallo’s tenth strike of the season was not enough to see his side extend their unbeaten run to eight matches (seven of which had ended in victory) and they thus lose momentum in their push for title honours.

Next up for Spugna’s charges is a home fixture with Novara. Tufano’s team, meanwhile, travel to Empoli, where they will look to stay top of the pile.
