Today was a day of solidarity in Vinovo as around 100 youngsters subscribed to the ‘Gioca con Me’ project, Juventus’ Turin-based Academy and the Bianconeri’s grassroots programme came together to celebrate International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in a specially organised event at the club’s training ground.

With another afternoon of sport and entertainment on the agenda – the fifth event of its kind to be arranged in as many years – Juventus took the opportunity once more to reaffirm its commitment to fighting discrimination in all its forms.

Earlier this month, the Bianconeri expanded its efforts on this front with the internationalisation of the ‘Gioca con Me’ project to Tunisia, Lebanon, Guatemala, Peru and Colombia, while its ‘Un Calcio al Razzismo’ programme, also in collaboration with UNESCO, continues to go from strength to strength.

Also in attendance at today’s event in Vinovo were President of the Turin UNESCO Centre, Maria Azzaro Chiesa, and Juventus’ Head of Academy, Gianluca Pessotto.

“From 2012 until now, Juventus has been very active alongside UNESCO in the fight against all forms of discrimination,” declared Pessotto.

“There’s no better way to say no to racism than to see kids playing football. In sport, there’s no place for prejudices because sport is all about passion and a willingness to play together.”
