FROM BOCA TO BIANCONERI
“I’m very happy to be here and be a part of this amazing club. To come here and play in Europe is a dream for all South American players, especially if you end up in a team like Juventus.
“I was fortunate to be at Boca Juniors from a young age and go on to play more than 80 matches with the first team, accumulating experience in a very important club with a huge fan base, like Juventus, and an intense home atmosphere.
“The Bombonera is very striking and players can feel under pressure to perform. Now I’ve the chance to put my knowledge to the test and to the benefit of the Bianconeri.”
ADAPTING TO ITALY
“I’ve watched Juve matches and how the midfielders go about their business. Italian football is faster than the Argentine game, but I’m ready for it. My first aim is to gain the trust of the manager and earn the opportunity to play.
“I like to keep things simple on the pitch, both in front of the defence and also going forwards. The midfielder I’m most similar to at Juventus would probably be Miralem Pjanic.”
JUVE AND URUGUAY
“In Paolo Montero, Marcelo Zalayeta and Martin Caceres, several Uruguayans have come to this club, so it’s an honour for me to now be wearing the black and white stripes. I hope to follow in their footsteps.
“In football, sometimes things go well and sometimes they go badly, but criticism serves to keep one’s feet on the ground. I’ve managed to do this also thanks to my family who have helped me understand just how important it is to work really hard in life.”
