Class, power, timing, vision. Medhi Benatia has demonstrated all of the above qualities and much more this season for Juventus.
The first ever Moroccan to pull on the black and white stripes, Medhi’s composure and experience have made him an effective addition to the Bianconeri backline this term, where he has won 70 per cent of his defensive duels while completing 90 per cent of his passes.
At the other end of the field, who could forget his thumping volley against Milan at the beginning of last month, a strike that set up another crucial win on the road to a sixth consecutive Scudetto.
All associated with the club would like to wish Medhi a very happy 30th birthday today and, of course, a richly successful conclusion to the campaign.
