The European Parliament honoured the respective memories of the victims of the Heysel disaster and Erika Pioletti, the young woman who tragically died in Turin’s Piazza San Carlo on 3 June, in a service in Brussels today.

Two wreaths of flowers were placed underneath a commemorative plaque bearing the names of the 39 who lost their lives on 29 May 1985.

Juventus’ Paolo Garimberti (Juventus Museum president) and Gianluca Pessotto (Primavera Team Manager) were joined by EU MP Alberto Cirio, Associazione Familiari Vittime dell’Heysel (Heysel Victims’ Association) president Andrea Lorentini, Associazione Quelli di Via Filadelfia (the Via Filadelfia Assocation) president Beppe Franzo and representatives from a selection of Juventus fan clubs from Piedmont, Lombardy and Liguria.
