Three goals, three points, a 26th consecutive victory at Juventus Stadium; in other words, the perfect way to kick off the New Year.

The Bianconeri began their record-breaking home winning streak against Bologna way back in October 2015 and some 15 months later, they were beating them again to maintain the same run in January 2017.

Juve put the disappointment of losing to Milan in the Italian Super Cup final in Doha immediately behind them, Gonzalo Higuain picking up where he had left off in Serie A at the end of 2016, scoring once in each half either side of a Paulo Dybala penalty.

The first, a sharp finish from Miralem Pjanic's delicate chipped through pass, the second a simple header from a Stephan Lichtsteiner cross, his sixth in five matches in all competitions.

There was even time for winter acquisition Tomas Rincon to make his debut, replacing Sami Khedira with nine minutes remaining.

The year of the LE6END had begun.
