The Derby d'Italia is an exceptional fixture in the Serie A calendar so it is only right that every now and then, it is decided in truly exceptional fashion.

Inter emerged victorious over Juventus at the San Siro earlier in the season but Massimiliano Allegri's men were not to be beaten a second time by their bitter rivals in Turin in February.

This time, Juan Cuadrado was the difference in a game that demonstrated Juve's supremacy not only over their opponents for the evening - coming into the game in an impressive run of form - but indeed over the chasing pack in the title race.

The Bianconeri could have taken the lead long before Cuadrado's stunning long-range strike on the stroke of half-time were it not for the crossbar, denying Paulo Dybala's curling effot from distance, and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic somehow getting hands to a Dybala scissor kick and a Miralem Pjanic free-kick.

The night's decisive moment would come from the resulting corner: a weak Inter clearance sent the ball rolling loose towards Cuadrado whose 30-yard drive was as accurate as it was venomously struck, arrowing into the top corner.

Six points clear with a game in hand, a turning point in the season.
