40,000 vs. 11 at Juventus Stadium

“We earned three very important points against a very good team. We’re delighted with the result and of course with the clean sheet. We were well worth the win overall, and we got there by fighting right until the very end.

“The fans played their part right from when we came out to warm-up before the game; their support pushed us to our limits on Sunday and we want to repay them with trophies at the end of the season.

“We are in great shape at the moment, we’re playing some good stuff and have struck a fine balance between scoring goals and keeping them out. Inter made life difficult for us but our home form has always been our ace in the hole. We rarely let things slip and you saw why last night.”

Next up? Crotone.

“Coming so shortly after our win at the weekend, Wednesday’s match against Crotone won’t be straightforward. As ever, our focus in on picking up another three points and maintaining our advantage over Roma and Napoli.

“Our squad is deep and packed with quality; when you have strength in depth like that it allows the boss to tailor the starting XI for whatever opposition. The most important part of the campaign is just beginning and we need to make sure we are ready for it. The further we go, the smaller the margin for error; the sides behind us won’t give up the chase and we mustn’t rest on our laurels."

Chemistry counts

“Gonzalo and I get on well both on and off the field; it was his pass that put me through on goal last night and I really should have done better with the finish. Our in-game understanding is always improving, and the same goes for my chemistry with everyone else in the squad.

"Having such brilliant individuals makes gelling together as a team that bit easier.”

Free-kickers!

“Having guys that can score from set-pieces gives us that extra edge in tight games. We always stay on after training to practice. I’ve got a free-kick challenge on the go at the moment with Dybala, it’s 2-2 at the moment!”
