Juventus Football is pleased to announce that wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner has renewed his Juventus contract until 30 June 2018 in a deal that will extend his black and white journey into at least its seventh year.

Lichtsteiner’s contributions over the past five and a half seasons have irrevocably rewritten the club’s history books, the Swiss defender one of six current Juve stars to have played a part in every one of the Old Lady's five consecutive league titles.

As one of the players to define the new Juventus area that began in the Summer of 2011 and reached unprecedented heights in the Spring of 2016, the monumental nature of the Stephan’s Juve debut was a clear indication of what was to come from the committed and relentlessly energetic wideman.

The timing of the dart in from the touchline to collect Andrea Pirlo’s lofted pass, the impeccable first touch and the ice-cool finish against Parma on Juventus Stadium’s first competitive fixture on 11 September 2011 was pure Lichtsteiner and a perfect demonstration of all of the 33-year old’s extensive qualities.

From then on, Stephan has gone from strength to strength, making a further 161 appearances for the club, scoring 13 times and making 19 assists from open play, more than any other defender since the beginning of the 2011/12 season.

And now, with at least another year and a half of service and the chance to become a true club legend on the way, the Swiss Express shows no signs of letting up.
