MATTIA DE SCIGLIO
Born in Milan, Mattia De Sciglio emerged from the Rossoneri’s youth academy to make his Serie A debut in the 2011/12 season. During six years in Milan’s first team, he made 110 Serie A appearances (becoming the youngest defender to do so), 13 in the Coppa Italia and 10 in the Champions League.
De Sciglio first got called up to the Italian national team on 21 March 2013, at just 20 years old. Since then, the full-back has been a regular feature for the Azzurri, playing his part in the 2013 Confederations Cup, 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Championships.
In the summer of 2017, De Sciglio signed for Juventus, making 20 appearances across all competitions and scoring one goal – a thunderbolt of a strike against Crotone on 26 November 2017 – en route to claiming a first career domestic double.
A natural right-back, De Sciglio also brings versatility to the squad as he is able to pitch in at multiple positions. For his country, De Sciglio has played left-back, right-back, and on both sides of midfield.
