Beginning life in the Bianconeri youth setup, Claudio Marchisio was the captain of an unstoppable Primavera side before becoming a part of the first team and then gaining international recognition.
Marchisio rose to the fore during Juventus’ Serie B promotion season before enjoying a loan spell at Empoli the following year.
He celebrated his return to Turin in 2008 by becoming a husband and father and he’s never looked back since in the black and white of Juventus.
During the first part of his career, Claudio was often compared to Marco Tardelli due to his strong engine, two good feet and a willingness to break forwards into dangerous areas. These bursting runs from midfield saw him get on the scoresheet with eye-catching regularity.
Playing a little deeper than he did as a promising youngster with a now outstanding tactical and positional intelligence but the same velvet first touch, Marchisio’s metronomic presence in the Juventus midfield has been the cornerstone to the club’s legendary on-pitch achievements.
