Argentina through to Copa America final

Carlos Tevez and Roberto Pereyra’s Argentina set up a Copa America final with Arturo Vidal’s Chile after dispatching Paraguay by a 6-1 scoreline last night.

Marcos Rojo prised open the floodgates with a goal in the 15th minute, before Javier Pastore doubled Argentina’s lead with a low shot.

Paraguay restored hope shortly before the interval through Lucas Barrios, but Angel Di Maria’s double extinguished any hopes of a revival.

Sergio Aguero made it five before Gonzalo Higuain rounded off a sensational night at the office by adding a sixth with seven minutes remaining.

Tevez and Pereyra were unused substitutes for the semi-final but will be hoping to get the opportunity to lock horns with a familiar face when they face Vidal’s Chile in Santiago on Saturday 4 July.

The midfielder showed his delight at his country's triumph by publishing the following photo of their dressing room celebrations on his official Instagram account.
