Atkinson to take charge of Olympiacos encounter

Martin Atkinson heads up an English refereeing delegation for the Bianconeri’s crucial Champions League Group A encounter with Olympiacos at Juventus Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The 43-year-old, who has been officiating in Europe’s elite competition since the 2007/08 campaign, recently took charge of the abandoned Euro 2016 qualification tie between Serbia and Albania in Belgrade.

He has previously presided over a match involving the Bianconeri, a 2-2 Champions League draw with BATE Borisov back in September 2008. Former striker Vincenzo Iaquinta scored a brace for Claudio Ranieri’s side that evening.

Atkinson will be flanked in Turin by assistant referees Michael Mullarkey and Darren Cann, goal-line officials Anthony Taylor and Kevin Friend and fourth official Stephen Child.
