Banti to oversee Roma clash

Luca Banti will oversee Sunday evening’s 20.45 kick-off against Roma at Juventus Stadium.

The referee, who hails from Livorno, will take charge of a Bianconeri fixture for the 26th time in his career, with 20 of these coming in Italy’s top flight.

Juventus have prevailed in 14 of the 20 Serie A matches refereed by the 41-year-old, the latest of these victories coming in December 2015, when Paulo Dybala helped Massimiliano Allegri’s men secure a 2-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

Banti has overseen just one previous encounter between the Bianconeri and Sunday’s opponents Roma, a 3-0 Coppa Italia quarter-final triumph on 24 January 2012.

He will be joined on Sunday by assistant referees Alessandro Costanzo and Andrea Padovan, fourth official Filippo Meli and goal-line officials Massimiliano Irrati and Nicola Rizzoli.
