Di Maria: "Delighted to be at Juventus"

Angel Di Maria greeted the press at his official unveiling as a Juventus player. The Argentine forward was quick to compliment the positive feedback he has received already since arriving at the Bianconeri before setting his targets for the season to come.

WARM WELCOME

"I am delighted to be here and have the chance to wear this shirt. Joining this club has been a fantastic move. My family and I have received such a warm welcome. It’s true what I heard, this is a great club and there is a great sense of belonging to a family here.

"Everyone welcomed me from the minute I arrived and made me feel like one of the team. This struck me right away. It was something that I was looking forward to and now it’s great to be actually experiencing it.”

TOP CREDENTIALS

"I chose Juve because this is the most important club in Italy. There are all the credentials here to win, and I want to add my contribution. I know there’s a strong team here and I want to be part of it - if the club came looking for me, then they must believe I can do exactly that.

“In football, situations can change so quickly, but with Juventus everything went well from our first contact.

“If a big club like Juve come looking for you, it’s almost impossible to say no. I really wanted this move. My family and I remained calm, and the right moment came after my contract expired.”

INDIVIDUAL QUALITY

"I have not changed as a player. I am the same Di Maria that wants to win at all costs, who hates losing. I believe Juve signed me for these qualities. The most important thing is to put in the effort.

"I have met Coach Allegri and I am sure we will work well together.

“I like to set up teammates and I hope I can provide plenty of assists this year. The position I like best is to attack down the right wing and cut in on my left foot, but it is the coach who decides the tactics and I’ll follow his instructions."

TEAM WORK

“I am delighted to have quality young players like [Dusan] Vlahovic and [Federico] Chiesa in the team. It’s important to have a winning mentality and that is an ingredient I bring to the squad. One of the reasons Juventus wanted me was because they know I always give my all.

“I am completely focused on Juve right now. I came here to win and work with this great club. I will think about the national team when the time comes - the World Cup is one of the most important events any player can take part in and the next could be my last while my story with Juve could continue. I want to win here."
