Great games against Bologna through the years

Saturday night will be the 142nd game between Juventus and Bologna, and the 71st in Turin. The Bianconeri have won 70 times against the Bologna in Turin, scoring 115 goals, an average of 1.64 per game.

The five following games have been a real show of The Old Lady's strength against their Rossoblu counterparts:

1955: THE BIGGEST WIN

The 5-1 Juve victory over Bologna on 4 June 1955 still remains the biggest Bianconeri win. Juve opened the scoring through Umberto Colombo after only five minutes on the clock. Bologna's Dino Ballacci scored an own-goal in the ninth minute, and then Juve trebled their lead with a goal from Helge Bronee on 39 minutes.

Gino Cappello pulled a goal back for Bologna just before half-time, but it was to be in vain, as in the second half Bronee and Ettore Mannucci scored to seal the match heavily in Juve's favour.

1934, 1958 & 2009: 4-1

On three occasions, the Bianconeri have triumphed by four goals to one over the Rossoblu.

Firstly in 1934, Felice Borel, Giovanni Ferrari, Raimundo Orsi and Luis Monti were all on the scoresheet for the Old Lady. Bologna replied with a goal from Francisco Fedullo, but the Juventus team from the first year of the first quinquennio proves to be too strong.

In the 1957/58 season Juve are forced to make a comeback as the visitors take a 15th minute lead through Luigi Bodi. Omar Sivori levelled the scores just 10 minutes later, and the Bianconeri eventually went in front in the second half with a goal from John Charles in the 55th. Giampiero Boniperti then made it three, before Gino Stacchini put four on the scoreboard.

On 14 March 2009 at the Stadio Olimpico, Hasan Salihamidzic, Sebastian Giovinco and two goals from Alessandro Del Piero see off Bologna, who reply in the 24th minute with Massimo Mutarelli their goalscorer.

2017: THE LATEST WIN

On 8 January 2017, the Bianconeri's first league game of the year see Juve run out as 3-0 winners after a brace from Gonzalo Higuain and a Paulo Dybala penalty.
