Juve-Lazio: Talking Points

  1. TWO WINS FROM TWO

The Bianconeri have started the season in the best way possible with two wins from their first two games! After last weekend's 2-3 success at Chievo, Juve followed up yesterday with a 2-0 victory over Lazio.

La Vecchia Signora have scored five goals in two matches, with five different goalscorers. In seven of the last eight league campaigns, Juventus have won both of their first two Serie A games.

  1. GOOD LAZIO RECORD CONTINUES

Juventus have won 21 of the last 28 matches in Serie A against Lazio, with the Biancocelesti achieving just one success amongst six draws. Not just that but the Bianconeri have conceded goals in only one of their last eight meetings with Lazio in Serie A.

  1. IMPORTANT CLEAN SHEET

Wojciech Szczesny earned his first clean sheet of the season by shutting out the Lazio attack, with eight total shots from the away side, six off target and two on.

  1. WHAT A GOAL FROM MIRALEM!

It was an amazing goal that opened the scoring at the Allianz Stadium last night, with Miralem Pjanic firing home a 30th minute netbuster after Lazio cleared a Bernardeschi cross to the edge of the box that the Bosnian fired home first time.

So far in 2018, all three of Pjanic's league goals have come at the Allianz Stadium and all from outside the area.

  1. MARIO's GREAT RECORD

Mario Mandzukic proved to be yesterday's match-winner, scoring the goal to seal the game in the 75th minute. It was the Croatian's first Bianconeri goal since April and it came with a guarantee in that Juventus have won all 22 Serie A matches in which Mario has found the back of the net!
