#JuveChievo, the statistics

Second-half strikes from Paul Pogba and Stephan Lichtsteiner allowed the Bianconeri to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 11 games thanks to Sunday’s 2-0 win over Chievo at Juventus Stadium.

Following a goalless first 45 minutes in which the Gialloblu proved a tough nut to crack, a moment of magic from Juventus’ young Frenchman on the hour mark saw him bag the hosts’ opener and his fourth goal in as many outings for the Bianconeri.

Lichtsteiner then ensured all three points when he prodded home from close range after Pogba’s initial effort had been pushed into his path by Chievo shotstopper Albano Bizzarri. It was the Swiss defender’s third strike of the season, with all three having come on home soil.

Yesterday’s victory, Juventus’ 15th league success of the campaign, also saw them extend their winning streak over the Gialloblu to six matches.

Here is a closer look at some of the key numbers that led to Sunday’s Serie A triumph at Juventus Stadium:

Four

Crosses pumped into the Chievo box by Patrice Evra who endeavoured to be an attacking outlet down the Bianconeri left.

Five

Interceptions made by Giorgio Chiellini as he snuffed out all three Gialloblu strikers.

Six

Serie A assists provided by Carlos Tevez this season – no other player has registered more in the league.

15

Recoveries performed by Gigi Buffon during a relatively quiet afternoon where he was forced into a solitary save throughout 90 minutes of football.

62.3

Possession percentage dictated by Massimiliano Allegri’s men who also boasted an 85.3% passing accuracy.

64

Successful passes made by Claudio Marchisio. ‘Il Principino’ also enjoyed 89 touches and chipped in with eight good long balls as he looked to kick-start a wave of Juventus attacks.

100

Percentage of dribbles completed by Roberto Pereyra, Evra, Marchisio and Pogba, whose shimmy past two Gialloblu challenges proved pivotal in the build-up to his goal.

200

Appearance barrier reached by Leonardo Bonucci in all competitions following Sunday’s encounter as he helped the Bianconeri to an all-important triumph and clean sheet.
