Juve Women continue their march at the top

There seems to be no letting up from Rita Guarino’s girls, who racked up another win to keep ahead at the top of the standings in Serie A. It was a convincing win from Juventus Women, despite the slender scoreline against one of the big sides in the division, thanks to Barbara Bonansea’s fine finish, with Juve having more opportunities to put the game to bed.

THE MATCH

Sara Gara and her teammates when at it from the off, with England international, Eniola Aluko having a chance after just four minutes of play. The lively Bonansea had two good first half chances, in the 26thminute after a fine attacking move in the final third, and then following a lung-busting run in the 35thfrom inside her own half, but the number 11 was denied by the keeper on both occasions.

In the second half Juve again start strong, finding the back of the net after just four minutes, only for Cristiana Girelli’s header to be cancelled out by the offside flag. Finally, in the 64thminute, Juventus Women find the breakthrough, Bonansea dances around the Roma defence to find a finish into the corner of the net. The Bianconere hold their lead and see out the match to claim three more precious points!
