MONTEMURRO: “WE ARE ONLY AT HALF-TIME”

On the eve of tomorrow’s return leg fixture against Albanian side Vllaznia, Joe Montemurro and Martina Rosucci chatted to the media to preview the clash.

Here’s what they had to say:

JOE MONTEMURRO

In the first leg we controlled the game, we will have to do the same again, all while giving continuity to our play. This round is played across 180 minutes, we are only at half-time and we are ready for the second slot of 90 minutes.

Sofie Pedersen brings balance to our midfield, for her it was not an easy pre-season, but she is coming back, and we hope to have her back at 100% soon.

It is essential to always have humility and understand where we are on a European level. The important thing is to continue to create opportunities, and even more goals will arrive.

There are no essential players, it depends on the opponent and on the moment. I'm happy to have a balanced squad - that gives me the opportunity to change - and I'm also happy with the mentality of the group.

For the growth of women's football it is important to play many games at the highest level, and in order to achieve this, the group stage will do us well.

MARTINA ROSUCCI

To be among the best 16 in Europe would be an important goal. We will not shy away, and we want to achieve it at all costs. We started well. We are only at the beginning of this journey, where we want to continue to improve.

We are a united group, where we all have the same importance. The youngsters have all made themselves available, and we are moving forward as one and this is fundamental.
