PRESS ROOM | REACTION TO CREMONESE WIN

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

«We knew this was going to be a tricky match because Cremonese run hard and harry you constantly. They're well drilled and very physical too, so the lads deserve credit for this result. We made lots of mistakes in the first half but it wasn't easy to get straight back into our stride after 52 days. There were lots of unknowns. We did better in the second half and might have scored before we did but it's another small step forward as we've stretched our lead over the fifth-placed team. We had some great players on the bench and they did well when they came on. Rabiot had only had a couple of training sessions and there were lots of players who weren't fully fit. He and the likes of Kean, Iling, Chiesa and Paredes all played really well. Di Maria is better and he trained today. He picked up a knock but he's fine. Vlahovic and Cuadrado are doing well too, as is Pogba. We're going to need everyone and we have an excellent squad. We must keep working and trying to improve but we can be happy with the squad we have».

AREK MILIK

«We're delighted with the win. It was important to start the year strong. We misplaced lots of passes but ultimately it's the three points that matter. Now we'll kick on from here. I spend a lot of time practising free kicks with Vlahovic – he's got a great shot on him too. It comes down to how you feel when you're out there. We'll get all the other guys back now and we'll be able to play our best football».
