Several Juventus Men’s First Team players took to the field on Sunday, 16 November 2025, in what for many was the last qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Portugal qualified for the World Cup, sealing first place in the group by thrashing Armenia 9-1 in their last match and quickly moving on from their defeat against Ireland a few days ago. Francisco Conceicao also joined in the celebrations, coming on in the second half and scoring a goal in the final minutes.

France, already qualified, also won, coming from behind to beat Azerbaijan at home in the final match of Group D. Khephren Thuram played the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 win, with the Juventus midfielder first setting up the second goal with a perfect long ball and then deflecting the ball into the net from a corner to make it 3-1.

Filip Kostic also started in Serbia's home win against Latvia, a comeback victory that does not change their position in the group. They ended up third in the standings and are therefore out of the running for World Cup qualification.

Finally, Italy suffered a home defeat, losing 4-1 to Norway at San Siro and finishing second in their group. Manuel Locatelli started the match, while Andrea Cambiaso remained on the bench for the entire 90 minutes. In March, the Azzurri will be in the playoffs to try and qualify for the World Cup, which they have not played in since 2014.
