The New Year began in the best possible fashion yesterday afternoon as the Bianconeri swept aside Verona at Juventus Stadium to record an eighth straight league win, yet there was little time in which to relish it in Vinovo this morning as Massimiliano Allegri's men immediately set about preparing for Sunday's encounter with Sampdoria.
Although the champions will have the fondest of memories of their last two trips to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa, a venue that was the scene of September's 2-0 win over Genoa and more importantly of the confirmation of the club's fourth consecutive league title last May, they will be have to be at their very best once again to defeat a Samp side galvanised by Tuesday's 3-2 triumph in the Derby della Lanterna.
As ever, those that featured in yesterday's game underwent a routine warm down session while the remainder of the squad focused on ball work before moving on to a small-sided intra-squad friendly.
Allegri's men, in their full complement, will be back on the scene at the same time tomorrow morning as they build momentum towards the weekend.
