This year’s Italian Super Cup final between Juventus and Milan will take place on 23 December in Doha, in what represents the first opportunity of lifting silverware during the 2016/17 season.

The Bianconeri will go into the game looking to defend the title they laid claim to for a seventh time in their history last August in Shanghai, when goals from Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala saw off Lazio by a 2-0 scoreline.

With Massimiliano Allegri’s men having won both Scudetto and Coppa Italia trophies last term, Vincenzo Montella’s Rossoneri will provide the opposition in Qatar after reaching the 2016 domestic cup final in Rome, decided by Alvaro Morata’s injury-time winner.

This will be the ninth time that the Super Cup has been contested outside of Italy with previous matches held in Washington (1993), Tripoli (2002), New York (2003), Beijing (2009, 2011 and 2012), Doha (2014) and Shanghai (2015).
