Sarri: “Brescia will not be simple”

“It was clear from the start that this was going to be a different title race,” these were the opening remarks of Maurizio Sarri in today’s press conference. Following the defeat to Hellas Verona last weekend, the Bianconeri will have a chance to bounce back against Brescia on Sunday. And in order to do so, the Head Coach has a clear vision of what his team need to do: “We have to stimulate ourselves to play for the title until the end, this brings great motivation.

“We also have to increase our aggression: we have had some moments in games where we have to raise the level of our defensive intensity. Brescia has done better away than at home: they are not easy to face, and it will not be a simple game. This half of the season is become increasingly complicated.

Sarri then touched on the status of some of his players: “I have to evaluate the condition of the players today; yesterday they were a little tired. With Miralem Pjanic, I see a player who is always growing in his performances.

Bernardeschi is not yet in the group, he could be back next week. Gianluigi Buffon is doing well. He has performed well, and he is training well. The alternation of goalkeepers is not a problem at the moment.”

Finally, he concluded by commenting on what the outcome of Lazio-Inter would mean for Juve: “It’s important, but not decisive, we're thinking about ourselves.”
