Juventus Charity initiatives
Juventus Football Club has always been heavily committed to a wide range of humanitarian projects and social solidarity initiatives.
The club is currently collaborating with the activities of the ‘Fondazione Piemontese per la Ricerca sul Cancro’ (Piedmont Foundation for Cancer Research) and the UNESCO CENTRE to fight against racism as well as demonstrating dedicated support to a variety of charity initiatives such as the natural disasters of Abruzzo and Haiti.
Furthermore, Juventus organises the ‘Ale & Ricky Sempre nel Cuore’ (Ale & Ricky forever in our hearts forever) tournament every year, in memory of Alessio Ferramosca and Riccardo Neri, two youth players who lost their lives on 15 December 2006.
'Fatti e Progetti per i giovani'
The club also lended their support to the ‘Fatti e Progetti per i giovani’ (Facts and Projects for Young People) project which was intended to improve the lives and study conditions of many young people through its two main objectives:
- Constructing a Welcome Centre for non-EC minors
- Collaborating with the Turin University of Economics to outline a training scheme geared towards helping young people in the study of sports management by putting them in contact with teachers and professors with related expertise
'Un Sogno per il Gaslini'
Between the years 2000 and 2003, the club supported the ‘Un Sogno per il Gaslini’ (A Dream for Gaslini Hospital) initiative, which aimed to restructure the inside of Genova’s San Gerolamo Abbey and convert the structure into Gaslini Hospital.
'Centro di accoglienza'
Finally, the club gave a substantial contribution to the Associazione Gruppi di Volontariato Vicenziano (Vicenzano Voluntary Organisations) to aid with the construction of a Centro di accoglienza (Welcome Centre), named after Edoardo Agnelli, for mothers in need.
Juventus players are also committed, often in a personal way, to charity initiatives, which the club supports by communicating their activities through its own in-house press office.
